21 Days

21-days

Starting Monday, August 23, First Baptist Friendswood will begin a 21-day fast together as a church.  Click here to read pastor Dr. David's letter explaining the reason we are fasting as a church.

Understanding why we are fasting and how to fast

There are certainly different kinds of fasts. You are encouraged to pray and ask the Lord to lead you to what you should fast from. For example, over the next 21 days many of us are going to fast from sweets, bread, sugar and soft drinks, eating mostly fruits and vegetables instead. This may not work for you depending on your health situation. Please review the links below, pray over it and decide what you want to fast from.

This link from Campus Crusade for Christ is a very helpful and detailed site regarding fasting. Please take some time to read over this link, especially if you have never fasted before.

A Night of Worship

night-of-worshipWe will conclude our fast with a night of worship, Sunday, September 12 at 5:00 pm with dinner to follow.  We will pray together, worship, take communion and fix our eyes on nothing else but our great God.  This will be a special time for us as we pray, fast and seek God’s face together as His people. If you’re joining us on the fast, would you please complete the form below and tell us what you’re fasting from.
