About Roger Patterson
Roger grew up in southern Brazoria County in the town of Brazoria. He attended Brazosport College and received his BA in Sociology from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX. After graduating from ETBU, Roger attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth earning a Masters in Religious Education in 1976. In 1976 he was called to First Baptist Friendswood as Minister of Education and Youth and has been here ever since for a total of 30 years.
Roger has been married to Myra Gholson Patterson for 31 years and according to Roger, "I married out of my league". They have two grown children: Daughter - Sarah Hatch and husband Derek of Dayton, Ohio and Son - Dan Patterson and wife Sara of Columbia, Maryland.
