Our Strategy
We seek to create strategic environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders.
Our Mission
To lead people in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Values
We value mutual accountability in striving for
• an authentic relationship with God
• caring friendships with other people
• true fulfillment in serving others
• deeper joy in helping others find God
We have a simple strategy at First Baptist Friendswood. We strategically create environments conducive to reaching people in a way that is relevant to our culture. The purpose for our strategy is simple: to lead people in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Click here to Listen to a sermon on how you fit in!
The Foyer
The weekend services are our "foyer environment," crafted to make everyone comfortable and relaxed. The foyer is the place in your home that serves as the welcome area for guests and new friends. It's the first step, and it is often your only chance to make your guests feel comfortable enough to return.
That's exactly how we've designed our entry environments at First Baptist Church Friendswood. We want our guests to come back, so we do everything with them in mind. Each area of our church has its own entry place. Children have Kidmo, Middle and High school students have Pulse, and adults have our weekend worship services Downpour and Common Ground.
These environments are where most people will experience First Baptist Church Friendswood for the first time, and they serve as the perfect place to introduce newcomers to the life of our church.
The Living Room
At FBCF our "living room environments" are where you connect with people like yourself. When guests arrive in your home, you do not leave them in the foyer, but invite them into the living room. Likewise, we welcome our guests at the weekend, but invite them to come experience friendships with us.
We describe it like this: we want to move people out of rows, (from the weekend service) and into circles, (in mid-size group settings.) Our living room environments include The Mix which are our Bible study classes, and on-campus studies, including men's and women's studies.
These gatherings are smaller and more interactive than the foyer environment and offer genuine opportunities to begin friendships...just like the living room in your home.
The Kitchen
What is the most popular room in your home? Where do you end up when friends or family come over? The kitchen. This is where lasting friendships are made. And that's the kind of environment we are striving for in our small groups. Small groups are where people meet regularly for Bible study and prayer and are committed to accountability, friendship and support. A small group is the safe place to open your heart, share your life and ask the tough questions.
Small group opportunities for adults include environments for couples, singles, mixed (for couples and singles), men and women. High school and middle school students meet on Wednesday nights. Small groups are the place where life-change happens best at First Baptist Church Friendswood and we want to help you get there.
