Go Fish

Starting September 25th

rt-sermonJesus' first disciples were fishermen. As he was walking along the lake, he saw them casting their nets into the lake. And then he said the strangest thing. He said, "Come follow me and I will send you out to fish for people." And even stranger, they left their nets and followed him.

Just as the disciples, who left everything to follow Jesus, we also are called to follow him. Yet, if you continue reading the story, you will find those first followers of Jesus transforming to become exactly what Jesus wanted them to be, fishers of men sharing the story of Jesus.

In this new six week sermon series, we're going to be talking about what it means to fish for people. The technical jargon is called "evangelism," referring to sharing our faith with others. However, this will not be the same old messages which tell you "how" to evangelize because the "how's" of evangelism cannot be taught in a sermon. And honestly, what works for one person quite possibly will not work for another.

Based on the original series "Go Fish" by Andy Stanley, we will discover how God perfectly positions us to reach someone with the Gospel. We're not going to talk about door knocking or study methods because becoming a fisher of men is not something you do, it's something Jesus wants to do in you.
