Membership

So, if you think it's time to join FBC, here is what you need to do next. Any Sunday or Wednesday, stop by the "Guest Information Center" located on the East side of the building complex or go to the information table located in the main foyer entrance and sign up for the next available FBC Q&A. At the Q&A we will feed you, inform you and spend time getting to know each other. Our Pastor and staff will be present to talk to you about the mission, vision, and strategy, as well as, various ministries and opportunities at FBC. Then, on any Sunday morning, meet our Pastor at the front of the platform during the "invitation". Don't worry about it, he will explain the invitation clearly after his message. When you come, he will meet with you and direct you to a counselor waiting to guide you in the membership process.

Why is membership important?

Membership helps the staff to identify the people in whom we can trust to lead and care for others. Membership identifies that a person has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and that he/she is willing to go public with that faith through baptism. Membership identifies that a person is willing to support this ministry with their time, talents and treasure and to be held accountable to the values of FBCF. With the added requirement of participation in a strategic service team or ministry team, it also identifies that the person will partner with us in our strategy.

Why is it important to be a member in order to be in a leadership role?

Because of what membership represents, members are the most qualified people to be in a leadership position. Often, if people are not willing to be held accountable, to go public with their faith through baptism, or to commit to leading people in life-changing a relationship with Jesus Christ, it can be an indication that they are not ready to lead others within the church environments.

What does membership indicate?

Membership indicates that you are willing to partner with the church to help us lead people in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. Members can draw great satisfaction from knowing that they are instrumental in leading others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Those people who want to join the church seem to understand the paradigm shift of "What do I get?" to "What can I give?"

What are the prerequisites to join the church?

  • Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Having been baptized SINCE accepting Christ.
  • Being willing to support this ministry with time, talents and treasure, and being willing to be held accountable to the church in matters concerning relationship to God and to others.
  • Being involved in community through a Bible study class, and/or serving on a Ministy Team.

What is a ministry team?

Ministry teams are volunteers gathered together to serve within the church. Volunteers are vital to FBCF and we look to them to facilitate and potentially lead the strategic environments we have created designed to lead people in a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
