Honduras Mission Trip 2009
In light of the current political situation in Honduras, Dr. Belk & Matt Parker have made the decision to reschedule our mission trip at this time. More details will follow. Please continue to pray for the people in Honduras during this time.
Dear Church Family,
In the last few weeks, God has shut one door and opened another. He's given us a great opportunity to further His kingdom and tell the story of Jesus Christ. You may have heard recently about our mission trip to Honduras. This is a trip of pure evangelism, including street evangelism, youth evangelism rallies, school assemblies, and vacation bible school. Like I said, pure evangelism.
Here's the specifics: The dates are July 13-20, 2009. We are going to La Ceiba, the 3rd largest city in Honduras (about 300,000 people). We have 17 spots filled and room for 13 more. If you're interested in going, you'll need complete an application and a $50.00 non-refundable deposit. You will find the application and all necessary information below under downloads.
Even if you can't go, there are still ways to be a part of the trip. First and foremost, pray. Pray that God would us our church to make an eternal impact. Pray, too, that those going would return with a renewed passion share Christ with others around here. Second, give. As of now, we estimate we need about $8000.00 to pull this off. With the money budgeted and raising additional funds, we can make this trip affordable for anyone and everyone wishing to go. And you or your class or small group could collect Crayons, coloring books, and stickers, for the team to take. These are just some of the ways all of you can be a part of this missions project.
What I appreciate about our church is our commitment to missions. In giving, going, praying and supporting, we have always believed God would and could use us to reach people for Jesus Christ. That tells me that you believe Jesus is not just your savior, but He came to be everybody's savior. The Honduras mission trip is another chance to make that known. Whatever you do, whatever you give, how often you pray, know it's all appreciated.
