Ministry Teams offer an opportunity for your passions to translate into meaningful actions. You are not elected, or appointed to any ministry team, you simply become involved. When you choose to become active with a ministry team it is only for as long as you choose to be active. No one will stand over you and make you do something that Father hasn't given you a passion for doing. Facilities

Facilities....................................Moe Mays

Cares for the buildings and parking lots. If you're a "handy-man" around your home and always looking for something to do then this team is for you.

Driving Miss Daisy........................Wes Wells

Provides transportation for older adults, or anyone who needs a ride to church on Sunday mornings. Transportation for pick up and take home is provided for the 9:30 Mix and for the 10:50 Common Ground service. Transportation to and from Doctor's appointments is also provided. If you like to be on the go, then this may be the team for you.

Landscaping...............................Van Williams

Plans and manages flowers, shrubs, and general landscaping needs of the church. No, being on this team does not mean you have to mow the church grounds. However, if you like gardening then check out this team.

Worship Center...........................

Decorates the worship center for the various seasons of the year or for special events.

Food Pantry............................................Lani Sykes

The Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am till Noon. It provides sacks of staple food items to families in need. They also provide gift certificates to help families with fresh milk, produce, meats, and baby supplies. This team current needs help with shopping, sacking food and Tuesdays/Thursdays distribution.

This team is made up of friendly outgoing people that enjoy extending a welcome and a helping hand to everyone that comes on our campus. If you never meet a stranger, then this could be the team for you.

Missions ................................................Scott Patterson

Team members help plan and promote hands on mission opportunities for our church family. They also help in planning and promoting mission education events and mission offerings. This year we're planning a trip to West Africa for Adults and a World Changers trip for Youth to Atlanta, GA. in June. If you like missions this is the place for you to get involved.

Office Volunteers ...................................Judy McNeely

The LOVE TEAM members are those who volunteer in the church office. They serve as the front desk receptionist answering the phone, freeing our staff to do more hands on ministry. They also help with special mailings and office administrative tasks. This is the place for people that like to talk, laugh, and serve others.

Promotes the spiritual discipline of prayer. At First Baptist Friendswood, we realize that to be effective, we must be supported by prayer. If you have been or want to be a prayer warrior this is the place for you to serve.

Preschool/Children Ministry ...................Stephanie Moses

Team members help Stephanie oversee, plan, and evaluate the Preschool and Children's events that are planned as well as assist with the ongoing ministry activities.  Please note that everyone who serves on this team or in any position that involves minors must have a background check. No exceptions. At First Baptist Friendswood we value the safety of our preschoolers, children, and youth.

Publicity (Out and About).......................Linda Spurger

Produce news releases, advertisements, flyers and look for other opportunities to get information about our church into the communities that we serve. If you have a gift for writing, designing, or just like to help, please consider being part of this team.

Special Meals ......................................Arlene Taylor

In the life of the church family there are times when meals are needed. Most often this is in a time of crisis such as the loss of a loved one. This team works with Sunday School (Mix Classes) and small groups to coordinate and provide meals when appropriate. If you have a gift of service and know your way around the kitchen then this would be a great place of service.

Student Ministry ...................................Matt Parker

Team members work with Matt Parker to plan, promote, execute, and evaluate the student ministry. If you love students, enjoy their company and enjoy being involved in their lives this is the place for you.

Technology

IT.............................................Christine Turner

Works with the staff to plan, implement, and evaluate the technology needs of the church as we grow. You don't have to be a computer geek to serve on this team; however, basic knowledge of computers is helpful.

AV.............................................Nathan Phifer and Kevin Collins

Runs the sound system and handles the video for each worship service. This team also coordinates sound needs for off campus events.

Team members work with couples planning to be married at First Baptist Friendswood and serve as the liaison between the church and service providers for the wedding and reception. They work with the bride and her family to make sure this special occasion is one that is perfect in every way possible, and one that also gives glory to God.

Worship Team

 Orchestra

The orchestra is open to everyone of high school age and above who plays a musical instrument. The orchestra plays in the weekly Common Ground service and the members rehearse weekly on Thursdays at 7pm in the Choir Room.

Praise Team

The Praise team helps lead worship in the weekly Common Ground service and rehearses on Wednesdays at 8 pm in the Choir Room. Each Praise Team member serves on a rotating basis.


Set up / take down.....................................Scott James

Team members love to serve "behind the scenes" of the foyer environment and is responsible for set-up and take-down for the Common Ground worship service under the guidance of a stage manager. It is not necessary to be a "technical genius" to serve on this team.
