West Africa 2007

W. Africa 7

Seven members of FBCF just returned from Niamey, Niger in West Africa. Unlike a traditional mission trip, the team led a retreat for several International Mission Board (IMB) and Brazilian missionaries who are sharing the gospel with the Songhai people group. The missionaries told us they'd prayed for Songhi Team7 years for a team to lead a retreat for missionaries to relax and be renewed. For three days, we taught God's Word, and led worship as well as encouraged, and prayed with them.

Following the retreat the team traveled to various villages among the Songhai people including Gotheye, Dargol, and Ayorou. As the team walked through the villages, we prayed for the people that God would open their eyes to the truth of Jesus and embrace Him as their Savior. We also were able to distribute 400 hundred cassette tapes among the villages. It contained the testimony of a man who converted from Islam and to Christianity and shared how anyone could come to know Jesus as Savior.

As you view the pictures below, take a moment and ask God to open their eyes to who Jesus is. We believe that there will be Songhai people standing before the throne saying, "Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb" (Rev. 7:9-10).
